Week 11
I can't believe Sine Die is already upon us! Last week included legislative days 34 through 37 with the continued trend of voting on mostly bipartisan legislation. We know there are several bad bills moving through House committees, so I'm bracing myself for what Week 12, our last three legislative days, has in store for us.
I appreciate every single of one of you for following along with us through this session, and I can't wait to see you for our final Town Hall this Sunday!

Good Bills
SB42
SB42 is an attempt to correct some over simplifications in previous legislation. As it stands now, there is very little distinction in the law between sex work and human trafficking- so tragically, some victims of human trafficking are tried with criminal charges of prostitution. SB42 would provide some protections for these victims so that we further make this distinction in the legislation.
SB180
SB180, or The High Demand Apprenticeship Program, would make it so that apprentice sponsors would be able to conduct an apprentice program at the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia.
SB245
SB245 would provide visitation rights to grandparents (and other family members), under certain circumstances - such as the child lived with the grandparent for six or more months, or the grandparent provided financial support for the child's basic needs for a year or more.
