It was my great honor and privilege to be sworn into service on Monday, the first day of the 2021 Georgia Legislative Biennial. Session looks very different now, but rest assured that myself and my fellow legislators are continuing our work of legislating, in as safe a manner as possible, masks and plexiglass and all.

Next week, we won’t be meeting, in order for the House and Senate Appropriations Committees to meet with state agency heads to discuss their budgetary needs for the fiscal year.

Fulton County Vaccine Schedule

I know some of you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and are having trouble making an appointment. I urge you to be patient – currently, demand for the vaccine is very high, and supplies are limited. Information about scheduling the COVID-19 vaccine through the Fulton County Board of Health is available here. The Georgia Department of Health website allows you to search by county or through private providers, such as Publix and Kroger, here.

FAQs

1. When are new appointments for the vaccine released?

There is no set schedule for releasing new appointments at this time. New appointments will be released every week.
2.  I’ve received my first vaccine, but cannot make an appointment for my second vaccine. What should I do?
The Fulton County Board of Health will be releasing a new scheduling system on Monday, January 18th, in order to schedule your second shot. Check the Fulton County site for more info then.
3. Can I get my vaccination in another county?
In Fulton county, you can receive the vaccine if you either live or work in the county. If you work in another county, please check that county’s requirements before making an appointment.

By August 1st, it is expected that 800,000 residents will be vaccinated, with approximately 1/3 receiving their vaccination through the Board of Health.

The vaccine rollout is still in its early stages, and information changes daily. I will continue to provide updates through this newsletter and on my social media platforms as we know more.
