As you know, the confirmation hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh began yesterday morning. Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination would jeopardize many of the issues most important to you and me. Front and center is his position on the constitutional right to abortion. Indeed, he poses such a threat, that the bipartisan Center for Reproductive Rights is opposing a Supreme Court nominee for the first time in its history.
The most disastrous—yet very possible—consequence of Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination could be the overturning of Roe v. Wade. In this “worst case scenario” the decision about safe, legal access to abortion will fall to individual states. Therefore, it’s imperative that we elect pro-choice, pro-women candidates at all levels of state government.
I can’t impact the Supreme Court nomination process, but I can promise you this: I will fight for women’s access to transparent, supportive, comprehensive reproductive health care in the state of Georgia.
Women are experiencing an all-out assault on their rights to reproductive freedom. We need your help to fight this trend. Please support Betsy Holland for Georgia by donating or volunteering as generously as you can and plan to vote in November for every pro-choice, pro-woman candidate on the Georgia ballot.
